Where prices come from
Holofile shows market prices from our data provider, and values each copy at its own condition or grade.
Holofile’s prices are market prices from our data provider, which tracks what cards and sealed product sell for. They’re estimates of market value, not offers to buy or sell.
How your copies are valued
Each copy is valued at its own condition, or its grading company and grade:
- A raw card uses the price for its condition (NM, LP, MP, HP or DM).
- A graded card uses the price for its company and grade.
- Sealed product uses its own market price.
Estimated condition prices
When there’s no market price for a raw card’s condition, Holofile estimates one from the Near Mint price:
- LP: 85% of Near Mint
- MP: 70%
- HP: 50%
- DM: 30%
Where the app shows an estimate, it says so, like “LP (est. from NM)” on the add form. Graded and sealed prices are never estimated: if there’s no price for a grade yet, Holofile says so instead.
