A scan picked the wrong card
How to fix a wrong match, and how to help the scanner read a card it’s struggling with.
Fix the match
- On the scan result, tap Change ›, or one of the cards under Not it? Other matches.
- Or search with Wrong match? Search all cards.
- In a multi-scan review, tap the card to change it.
When Holofile isn’t sure, it says Closest match and marks the card Check: look before you add it.
Same art in two sets? When the scanner can’t tell an original from its reprint, it shows both instead of guessing. Pick yours.
When a card won’t read
- Move somewhere brighter, or turn on the flash.
- Take the card out of its sleeve or toploader.
- Lay it flat, hold the phone flat above it, fill the frame and hold still.
- Tap the shutter to take a photo instead.
Check the printing
The scanner can’t reliably tell a reverse holo or another printing apart, so check the printing before you add a card. See Reverse holos and other printings.
